The '''Common Foreign and Security Policy ''' ('''CFSP''') <ref> The EU’s Foreign and Security Policy explained [https://europa.eu/european-union/topics/foreign-security-policy_en]</ref> has a range of tools that can be used to promote human rights and democratisation:
• Common Strategies, common positions and joint actions<br />
• Dialogue and consultations with third countries<br />
• Guidelines on [[Category:Policies of the European Union|EU policy ]] towards third countries on specific [[Human Rights|human rights ]] themes<br />
The Policy has developed gradually over many years, enables the EU to speak and act as one in world affairs. <br />
Acting together gives the EU's 28 members far greater clout than they would have if each pursued its own policies.
