Created in 1999, the G20 is an international forum in which the government leaders join to study, review and promote high-quality discussion of policy issues promoting international financial stability. It also hosts separate meetings of finance ministers and central bank governors. Included in the members are 19 individual countries and the European Union, represented by the European Commission and by the European Central Bank.
