The European Parliament (EP) enables decision-making at a European level, acting as a common unifier between the Member States.
The EP and the Council of the EU (Council) have the co-legislative power to adopt energy policy. In the EP the Committee for Industry, Research and Energy is responsible for discussing legislation amendments on energy policy and proposing them to the EP’s plenum, which ultimately decides.
