The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) promotes policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. One of its main focuses is to foster and support new sources of growth through innovation, environmentally friendly ‘green growth’ strategies and the development of emerging economies.[1] The OECD has issued a conservative estimate that its member states give the fossil fuels' industry support worth $160-200bn each year.[2]
