The Horizon 2020 work programme is a European multi-year Framework which, through a €77 billion budget, aims to:
- reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions by means of the intelligent and sustainable use of energy
- produce electricity at low cost and low emission
- research mobile energy resources and alternative fuels
- set up a unique smart European electricity grid
- invent new greener technologies
- adopt energy innovation
