COSME is the European Union's programme for [[Small and medium-sized Enterprises (SME)]]. The programme aims to: aid in the provision of finance; open markets for SMEs; support entrepreneurs; and improve business conditions. 

COSME is key in aiding SMEs in Europe and is often the sole reason they are able to grow and flourish though funding and other help. Many SMEs do not have the finances to do so and therefore COSME is of great aid.
